February 25th

John has been started on constant low-dose pain medication and seems to be more comfortable. He is taking fewer medications overall.

Our family would to thank everyone for their love and generosity during this difficult time.

I would also like to apologize for any confusion with the comment settings. I have fixed them and now anyone can comment and they do not have to have an account.

February 24th

John has chosen to stay at MGH and receive palliative care instead of moving to Newton-Wellesley. Chemotherapy is not an option due to low blood counts.
Please keep John in your thoughts and prayers.

February 23rd

John is still at MGH, possibly moving to Newton-Wellesley tomorrow, if a bed becomes available.

He is very tired most of the day so it is better to get in contact with us via email before making any plans to visit him. He is also not up to talking on the phone.

Thank you and we'll update again when we know for sure about the move to Newton-Wellesley.

February 21st

Dear Friends,
As many of you know, John received a stem cell transplant in early January at Mass General Hospital. The latest PET scan shows that the lymphoma has returned.

He will be transferred from MGH to Newton-Wellesley this week to receive additional chemotherapy to reduce the lymphoma symptoms and to help him be more comfortable.

We will be posting regularly with both treatment updates and some of our favorite pictures of John.

Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time.
