FRASER, John Neil Of Watertown, Feb. 28, 2010. Longtime Newton resident, who also resided in Waltham during his adult life. Born in Cambridge in 1941 and grew up in Newton, attending Franklin School. Son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Cullen) Fraser. Beloved husband of Kate Fraser (Katarina Borgeson). Devoted father of Nathan and Elizabeth, and from his 1st marriage to Sally Putnam Green, Jay (John Jr.) and Dale. Dear brother of Lillian and Margaret. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and three grandchildren: Joshua, Brendan and Matthew. Graduate of: Newton High School in 1959, Boston University (B.A.), Boston College (Master's), Suffolk University (Masters in Public Adm.), and Mass. School of Law (J.D.). Professional history includes: Mass. Commission for the Blind, Mass. Dept. of Health and Human Services, MBTA's RIDE program, Public Defender, Adj. Professor at Bay State College. Volunteered with Newton Lion's Club, Armenian Library and Museum of America, United Cerebral Palsy Human Rights Comm., and many activities at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Newton. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 4, in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Newton at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to: : Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, P.O. March 1st
There will be a memorial mass at Our Lady's Help of Christians Church in Newton on Thursday morning, March 4th at 10:30 am. With a reception to follow in the church hall.
We ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made in John's honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library.

My dad passed away a little before noon today.

My mom, Nathan and I are planning on leaving soon to go to the hospital to say our final goodbyes.

John is now on hospice care in the hospital.

February 25th
John has been started on constant low-dose pain medication and seems to be more comfortable. He is taking fewer medications overall.
Our family would to thank everyone for their love and generosity during this difficult time.
I would also like to apologize for any confusion with the comment settings. I have fixed them and now anyone can comment and they do not have to have an account.
